Our bat houses

We sell two bat houses:  One has 2 chambers, and one has 4 chambers.

Grooves are placed on the inside of every surface 1/32 inch deep, ½ inch apart to allow the bats to climb in.  The vent hole on the front of the bat house allows for the circulation of air so that the top inside of the house is warmer then the bottom.  We stain the bat house dark brown to absorb and hold the maximum amount of heat.  The dividers between the chambers end 1 ½ below the ceiling height.  This allows for the movement of the bat from chamber to chamber without leaving the nest.  The roof of the bat house is shingled to protect the house and prevent water from going into the house.  The picture above is the 2 chamber bat house.
